Eaton Junior Club Champiionship turned out to be a great competition full of fantastic scores. For many children it was their first time at 36 holes, and it was great to see so many improve their scores in the afternoon regardless of tired legs!
In total 13 children played on the day (which was slightly down on our original entry following summer holiday cycling and surfing accidents for some of our juniors!)
Overall champion with a net score of 9 under par for two rounds (66, 65) was Doris Thomas, who has enjoyed a fantastic summer cutting her handicap to 12. Second place went to Quin Monaghan with two solid rounds of 68 and 66 for a six under par total, whilst 3rd place went to Matt Clark with 71, 65, the afternoon round being his first under 100 with a 96.
The gross prize went to Nellie Ong with two rounds of 77 (adjusted to 74 for SSS against the boys) for a total of 148.
Alex Harrison won the 9 hole tournament with 63 shots for the back 9.
In total 7 of our juniors managed to cut their handicaps on the day.
Well done to all who took part.
